Because I felt the withholding I reacted with frustration and disgust, and directed my emotions at the writer instead of the characters. _Guilt-Free Sweet Treats_ With a title like that one can't help but open this book. Not a romance, like author Rachael Herron's Cypress Hollow books; rather a story about the love of sisters and of mothers and daughters. Another great story from Pete Hautman, with lots of twists you really don't expect the ending. This book will make you want to go to Rome and see the real thing up close. I voluntarily reviewed the book and all comments are my honest opinion. Personally my favorite was Needs Improvement. In regard to Jack's personal life, he loves Gloria, doesn't he. The only hint in the product description that might alert the customer that this is a very, very old reprint is the use of the term 'Classic Book'.
